The Gearseat started as a practical answer to a problem we met on real production days.
Camera transport is part of the shoot.
Moving a fully rigged camera between nearby locations was a familiar compromise: break everything down, or find an improvised place for a valuable working rig.
As professional cameramen in the Netherlands, we built a better solution for our own workflow. It connected to the car, worked with the hardware already used by camera departments, and kept the camera ready for the next setup.
Other crews noticed. Their interest turned an on-set solution into The Gearseat.
